Sept 27-28th 2018 : Isle of Wight : UK
This year's most exciting sailing event
The Silicon Cup is the largest sailing regatta for the IT industry. Join hundreds of industry professionals for the thrill of yacht racing in the Solent, network with contacts at action-packed social events and support worthy causes through entertaining fundraising challenges.
Since the first event in 2000 it has grown to include more than 450 competitors and continues to attract more companies that join those that have taken part regularly over the years. The 2018 event will take place on the 27-28th September in Cowes on the Isle of Wight (England).
Don’t miss a unique event that provides a great opportunity to entertain your customers, reward your employees, meet new contacts and give something back. No previous sailing experience is required - enter your own boat or let the Sunsail team set you up with a suitable yacht and a professional crew who will teach you the ropes.
Building a successful event
The Silicon Cup launched in 2000 when four senior people in the IT industry decided to combine their passion and their profession to raise meaningful amounts of money for charity. Over the years the team has evolved to scale with the success of the event and comprises:

JUBILEE SAILING TRUST
The Jubilee Sailing Trust is a registered charity whose mission is to promote the integration of people of all physical abilities via the challenge and adventure of sailing tall ships on the open sea.
Why our mission is important - There are two elements to the JST's Mission.
One is to overcome prejudices and misconceptions about disability amongst able-bodied people and the second is to enable people with a disability to show themselves and others what they are really capable of when the environment is designed to be inclusive
ANDREW SIMPSON FOUNDATION
Our fundamental ethos is to facilitate a wider participation in sailing, and to optimise the benefits that the sport can deliver to young people and ultimately to society at large. Importantly, we seek to be as inclusive as possible by encouraging participation to children and young people from all backgrounds, and catering for a range of physical and educational abilities.
“The funds raised throughout this regatta will be directed towards enabling more disadvantaged young people to experience sailing, and help to increase overall participation in the sport, something Bart was always an ambassador for.” Iain Percy, Founding Trustee of the Andrew Simpson Foundation
